TSI2 (Texas Success Initiative Assessment)
To Register, Pay, and Schedule the Accuplacer Exam (TSIA2/Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0)
- Go to swtxc.edu, admissions, testing center, and then select the register button.
- Examinees who ARE NOT attending nor plan to attend SWTXC will be required to go through a different process. (See below)
- Exams are $35 credit/debit online only. Money orders are not accepted.
- Testing dates are scheduled on a month to month basis
- All examinees must complete the “Pre-Assessment Activity” prior to exam date. Failure to do so will result in test cancellation. Provide a copy to the testing center via e-mail (testingcenter@swtxc.edu)
- Valid ID is required on test day.
- Examinees must arrive 15 minutes early. Examinees arriving 15 minutes late are subject to re-schedule penalty
- Exams are not timed, test duration is based of examinee (Exams can take up to 8 hours)
- Examinees wanting to re-schedule must speak with testing full-time staff for approval
Non SWTXC students are required to go through a different process to take the exam.

- Valid Passport
- Drivers License
- Military ID
- TX ID
- Tribal ID
- Naturalization card or certificate of citizenship

TSIA 2 (New TSI Exam)
The Reading and Writing Sections will be combined into one section, ELAR and cannot be taken separately. You will see both Reading and Writing questions and possibly the essay when taking the ELAR section. MATH remains solitary and can be taken separately.
Students have the following testing options with Southwest Texas College. Please see below.
- TSIA2: Both (ELAR + Essay and MATH)
- TSIA2: English Language Arts and Reading + Essay (or ELAR)
- TSIA2: ELAR (Multiple Choice Only)*
- TSIA2: ELAR (Essay Only)*
- TSIA2: Math Only

- English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) 945 - 990 with an essay score of 5 - 8
- OR 910 - 944 AND Diagnostic Level 5 - 6 AND Essay 5 - 8
- Math 950 - 990
- or < 950 AND Diagnostic = 6
